It's interesting to notice how fast of a rate what music sounds like, changes. How different and outdated the music 10 years ago today sounds like now. The bands that adapt to change positively and don't just follow trends throughout their discography are always the most successful.

I like to wonder what music's going to sound like in 100 years. I mean, 100 years ago the game was completely different. Can't comprehend what it could turn into.

Actually the bands that build a strong core fanbase and create music for more than material reasons last the longest.
Music is a product sold to children, we live in a capitalist society were the product gets replaced when the teen consumer gets too old.

to be honest all music from 2007 is still extremely modern, and 1997 alt./indie rock is not really that bad
>>
Only real music's gonna last. All that other bullshit, is here today and gone tomaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooooooo-

>nice tripis

The reason change in music is much faster now is because, for nearly 100 years, music has been easily accessible for use at home so music can be consumed faster. This also means music becomes boring at a faster rate, and therefore change needs to be made to surprise and sell.

I don't know what you're talking about OP, the top 40 is the exact same as it's been since 2007. I don't know what it was about 2007 but that's the year when everything just became the same.

>singularity in 50 years
AI wont care for music

people with corporation relationships are top 40 so objectively popular music isnt good music
>>
>>73147346
You're right. This is what keeps me from an heroing

Nah, dude. Top40 does not sound like top40 from 2007. You probably just don't actually listen to it, there are all kinds of trends coming and going.
2007 top40 sounds VERY dated to someone who actually listens to top40 (which I do because dorm)
>>
>60 years from now
>every top 40 artist will have a bolded album on rym
>music documentaries and books only cover top 40 artists
>there's nothing you can do about it but being a bitter old (wo)man

You can make your own documentaries
