Nah, just kidding (I am going to see them though), their lyrics are a lot less cringe in German. Radio-Activity and TEE are the better albums though, still got some of that original experimental side to them rather than being essentially pure pop music. Make sure to listen to the originals though, not the 'remasters'. The NR and compression completely ruins those two albums. I think Ralf must be going deaf if he thought they were good enough to release.

I totally agree, they're not one of the best bands ever but definitely one of the most influential. I mean they started making "techno" in the late 60's after all.

The single was originally planned to be included on the original Techno Pop album in around 1984 or so, but the album was scrapped after recording but before mixing because the band weren't happy with it. Ralf had his bike accident somepoint around this time too and so was in a coma for a while. They ended up scrapping the whole thing and recorded Electric Cafe instead (also supposed to be called Techno Pop originally and hence why it's been renamed that for the modern day release). At the time of the TdF single release there was never a plan for a cycling themed album, that idea came much later.

These demos are all that are left of the original Techno Pop album. Quite similar to what we actually got with Electric Cafe, but a bit warmer sounding.
