One of the better tripfriends here (Climaxia, aka AntaresMHD, aka the co-creator of the tapmusic generator) supposedly insulted an anon by saying their favourite band sucked (I can't remember the band, I think it was Animal Collective, but I might be wrong). So anon built a botnet that honed in on words/terms related to Climaxia's favourite genres, which included metal. The botnet had a bunch of gore images that it would spam in threads related to metal for an extended period of time, which usually resulted in the mods just deleting the thread instead of the posts.

Subsequently Climaxia left the site along with a few other metal trips. The goreposting lasted for quite a while, if memory serves it wasn't until they set up the captchas that it stopped.

I left the site entirely during that time since metal is my primary listening genre.

I may have fudged some details, but that's the way I remember it.

I like metal and classic/indie/alt rock equally. I don't think any one genre of music is better than another.
