When I listen to English pop music I memorize the simple lyrics in 4-5 plays and I end up angrily/mockingly repeating them and hating the song.

If you're not memeing, OP, just listen to lots of the classic albums that get mentioned on here a lot. Include lots of different genres too, which should begin to develop an educated taste in music, you can judge what you like based on actual knowledge of more obscure music.
