If you comb through the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums Californication, By The Way and Stadium Arcadium you can find many moments where the truth comes out. You can hear Anthony's growing frustration with Theodore in 'Can't Stop' when he tells him his life is "more than just a read through". Furthermore Redman's solo albums grew increasingly more desperate for reconciliation with his old life before he assumed the role of John. Read the lyrics to Curtains with this in mind... I think you'll be quite shocked.

Redman disgraces the real Frusciante's guitar virtuosity with his 'intentionally simple' playing on those records and just screeches over Lally and Klinghoffer's excellent rhythm section. It's really a shame to think what the real John Frusciante may have accomplished in his life had he not lost it to addiction. He was truly a promising guitarist

Heres an utterly fascinating bit:

Frusciantes playing style was pretty reminiscent of Hendrix, considering he was a massive fan and could play entire albums of him. Not only that but his technique was just soft and effortless.

After he went to rehab and pretty much learned playing guitar again his style changed dramatically. Way forced, less fluent and "virtuoso".

Did he literally lost some "muscle talent" too?

said it too, he changed DRAMATICALLY in his playing style. When before he would literally sweep over these double stops and funky chord harmonies Hendrix style, he suddenly played basic riffs and licks. Still good, but it lacked the actual "genius" of his old self.

Naah.. I discarded this possibility, because of his arms.. the needle scars and the deformed tattoos.. btw his early 2000 photoshoots clearly reminds me of him in the late 80's.. the same look, same eyes and smile (except for the teeth)
