This is one of the best albums I've ever heard.
Let's have a vintage J-Funk/J-Pop thread.

That's hardly J-Funk or J-Pop though. I'd definitely put it down as psychedelic folk or maybe enka. Still a good album. If you like that, check out Sai Yoshiko and Morita Doji. Maybe Meiko Kaji too, but she's a bit more spaghetti western.

Jun Togawa, Jun Togawa, and more Jun Togawa
Yapoos and Guernica

Jun Togawa is great and Guernica is fucking nuts in the best way. Yapoos never clicked with me though, t b h.

Second Sai Yoshiko

Quality recs all around. Also maybe try Kazemachi Roman.

Sucks, Yapoos were loads of fun. Also they sounded really great live. Theres some good concert footage up on Youtube.

I listened to Sai Yoshiko right after I found out about Haki Yamasaki.
Honestly this is the first time I've ever saw and felt music as really good.
I've listened to basic stuff mainly, japanese funk just for a few weeks now, but I think I found my thing.
Thanks anon.
