I seriously hope no one actually believes Cash's version is better than Trent's.

Cash's version sound so forced, so generic. Like it's someone trying to sound sound just to sound sad.
Trent's version is pure emotion and you can feel the pain in his voice. You know when he wrote it he was in a very dark place and pouring his soul into that song was his catharsis.
