Hey, looking to get into some new hip hop from the last few years but I don't know how to search for it because I don't know the styles and how to find what I like.
For example rock/metal music is very easy to figure out and the styles seem clearer than in hip hop.
What do?

Don't listen to hip hop
It's bad
That is all

Maybe I can help by telling you what I don't like.
- soul/rnb mixed in
- 'drifting' vocals, (autotune?)
- too experimental (Clippinn is difficult for me but I can take some Ben Carson)
- nigger/club/twerking beat with silly huge kick
- talking about obama and trump, boring
- Kanye Pablo, it's terrible. Yeezus and Dark Fantasy were legit good (yes, autotune but not as much as his older stuff)
- Fast and Furiou soundtrack type, it is just horrible, especially those songs with the arabic trumpets
I am not sure if that makes sense to narrow down what to look for..

Interesting ! but too much 70s emulation. I need some 2014 - 2017 production sound.

If 2014-2017 production styles interest you, there are quite a few interesting types.
Flying Lotus is really interesting and creative IMO, mixing stuff like Jazz, "wonky", and IDM into some really dizzying and fun songs. Try out Cosmogramma and You're Dead!, two of his best albums personally.
Cloud rap/trap styles have really massive sub bass, somewhat ethereal synths//keyboards, high hats, etc. Try out Imperial by Denzel Curry or Rodeo by Travi$ Scott.
Those are some good ones IMO
