I don't really care about whether people know about how music works, it just bugs me when people who don't actually know anything about music are snobby about their music being better than everyone elses music. It's usually people who know a lot about how music is made that can appreciate pop and shit on the radio because of the production quality that goes into it and angsty edgelords who hate on something just to gain some sort of feeling of superiority. If you're really into music you can appreciate all of it.

This. Doesn't mean you have to be a "fan" of everything and it's completely justifiable not not have a taste for everything. It's just blatantly obvious when the criticism or dislike is borne out of ignorance rather than just clashing or differing views.

Music is a form of art, not science. The majority of music listeners want to hear a piece of music, not a bunch of dots an a staff or a roman numeral analysis.
