Why am I so much better at processing auditory information than you are? Are you even able to enjoy music, knowing how little you are able to glean from hearing music, or do you simply listen in ignorance?
>>
that's not how perfect pitch works
>>

Hmm, what is your actual benefit?
>>
i have good relative pitch though
IDIOT
>>
>>72889886
What are some of your favorite albums
>>

Teach me your ways, master autismo
>>
99% of people who say they have perfect pitch don't have perfect pitch. If you weren't born with it it's not perfect pitch. You can get RELATIVE pitch with practice but so can almost anyone.

i'm starting to be able to pick out notes without a reference pitch so it seems like it might be possible to train perfect pitch if you really wanted
but as long as you can hear notes properly in relation to each other (ie you're not tonedeaf) i don't think perfect pitch would improve your perception of music, it's just useful for transcribing stuff

>tone-deaf: music lacks depth

>you: needlessly distracted by tonal differences measured in cents

>me: just right, outback steakhouse

My gf's dad (who is a theory nut) claims perfect pitch can be learned. I've learned to not argue with him.
>>
>>72890090
No perfect pitch is something you develop most people are born with relative pitch, it's considered abnormal if you don't have relative pitch.
>>
>>72890410
You have to develop it but I was pretty sure that the ability to have absolute pitch is genetic whereas anyone can learn to have relative pitch
>>
>>72890090
It's an enhanced talent at birth shaped by practice and perfection of said practice. I don't think you've ever met a person with perfect pitch. It's a crazy skill.
