You know, I live in Russia, but I don't even listen to soviet music, anything that has lyrics in russian language.
You can also check out Nautilus Pompilius (sometimes Hayтилyc Пoмпилиyc) if you want something that sounds like gothic rock or The Cure. Start with an album Чeлoвeк бeз имeни.
