What 2017 albums are people going to keep talking about after 2017 is over? (Pic not necessarily related).
Depends on the people.
/mu/ will keep talking about anything that got BNM, a highscore from Fantano or racially and political controversial, regardless of quality.

New Steven Wilson

BNMs aren't what they used to be. There was once a time where a BNM could launch your career, but now I bet you guys can't name the last album p4k gave BNM to without looking it up.

Girlpool?
None so far.
The new Flotation Toy Warning album that's coming out in a month

Didn't know about that. I'm happy if it's half as great as their first.
Only one I imagine will stand the test of time.

No one cares about them.

I can see Narkopop being discussed in the future, but usually in the context of Wolfgang Voigts discography, not on it's own like Pop or Zauberberg are.

I think Narkopop is a standout. It's his best yet but it's proving to be impenetrable for a lot of plebs who got into Pop and his other early work. If more people understood Voight and his mission as an artist, the greatness of this album would be more clear to them. I watched a few interviews with him, he's a really interesting guy.

Will be even less remembered than mbv.
None.
2017 is absolute bottom of the barrel.
I can't even fathom how 2018 could be worse than this. Then again I've said that every single year this decade and every year we hit a new low.

"hey, remember back in 2017 when steven wilson released an album so bad he shot himself in his face the day after it was released?"
