Japanese have a interesting appreciation for anything foreign, it may be related to their overall seclusion for a long time. But I also think that in general, stuff that are outside of your cultural circle are appealing due to the alien elements

post WWII sentiments. big American influence on Japan after their defeat. westernization somewhat diminished hyper masculine culture in japan. Japanese identified strongly with blues music and sub genres of blues in their years of mourning following WWII and its become apart of their own identity ever since.

>be me
>writing essay on Japanese blues music
>haven't started
>due tomorrow
>know nothing on the subject matter
>does one reading
>tfw know everything about subject matter
>tfw Japanese blues music historian now

>>72809341
Can you describe how exactly the hyper masculine Japanese culture was destroyed? Was it just the shame of losing the war or more then that?
>>
>>72810030
that and japanese was under allied administration, samurai/military government was replaced with a more western government
