Weirdly I've only ever listened to anything he did when he was in Pelt but I'll check some of his solo stuff out.

Thanks for the suggestions. Already listened to Jim O'Rourke but I'll make sure to check the rest out
Danny Paul Grody. He's got his own style, informed by ambient and psych, but his album Furniture Music is the most Fahey-like and traditional.
I fucking love John Fahey.

Thanks man

Yeah, there's just something about his music isn't there?

Genuinely the coolest musician in my eyes and I'm not sure why.

I always get the sense from his albums that he genuinely just loved music. Which is always a good thing for a musician. Also his manner of playing establishes him within a sense of history which is just brilliant

cultural appropreator
Have you heard Daniel Bachman? Young guy, but talented.

Just in the sense that pretty much all forms of American popular music have been "cultural appropriation". Just like Blues songs being influenced by Irish, Scottish and Welsh folk songs

I haven't, but I'm enjoying it

Is the consensus that this is the best Fahey album?
