Breakbeat subgenres were very big in the 90s, in the UK at least.
I still think talking about any electronic sub-genre in terms of LPs is a little pointless since a lot of them are essentially artist compilations and some of the best stuff never makes it to an LP, or if it does it's years after the artist was active (like Remarc and Bizzy B's LPs on Planet Mu). Then there are some producers like DJ Trace who go through their whole career without ever making an LP.

I love Underworld - Second Toughest in the Infants. Try the recent remaster, it's incredible. Remaster for Dubnobass is great too.
