Daily reminder that nothing groundbreaking has come out since the release of this album.

>R Plus Seven (Warp, 2013) is too amateurish to be taken seriously. The brooding requiem-like Boring Angel is mildly entertaining (but hardly revolutionary) and most of the rest is either trivial (like the ambient and pop fusion of Problem Areas, or the noisy drone of Chrome Country) or chaotic (Zebra).

R Plus Seven is one of my favorite albums ever, but I think people really overstate its influence. It's an amazing album, but it didn't particularly change music much.
While it was a fresh album, this kinda new-agey stuff had been around before, OPN just took it to a more interesting, and clever, level.
plenty of cool stuff has come out since 2013
sote's doing his whole crazy hyperbolic sounding stuff

ben vida's getting tyondai braxton to say phonemes that drive crazy out there synthesis

and the first rashad becker album came out in 2013 too but it was december so that's still after the OPN album
