Did the Who invent prog all the way back in 1965, 2 years before Days of Future Passed and 4 years before In the Court of the Crimson King?

Every sentence of your post gets gradually more and more incorrect. It's pretty impressive desu

okay, have fun listening to a bunch of quirky radio ads
>>72749191
I will. Have fun listening to the same 3-minute verse-chorus-verse formulaic mass-produced pop songs
The true rebels of this counter-culture progress era are the conservative sell-outs.
That's the real punk going against the grain.
Led Zeppelin invented prog metal

It's supposed to be a CONCEPT album. You're supposed to feel like you're listening to a British "Pirate" radio station in the mid 1960s before the british government shut them down. Mind you the concept sort of falls apart after "Medac" but I still find it an enjoyable album.

The quirky radio adds are supposed to be part of the charm/concept. I enjoy it. Works for me.

Led Zepplin invented nothing. They just re-wrote old blues songs took all the credit and ripped off from Cream who were a LOT better and knew when it was time to pack it in. (Plus all three members of Cream are still alive!)

In any case The Who might've invented the first rock opera with the suite A Quick One While He's Away.
>>72749238
Like Substitute and My Generation? Sure.
>>72749422
Yeah and it's shite. Try Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake.

No they didn't, Humble Pie did.
