Doom metal is literally just brostep with guitars instead of synths.
I mean, seriously, listen to a typical doom metal album. Other than the reggae influence in dubstep, they really function the same way. It's aggressive, it's bassy, it's slow. That's why people listen to it. Am I wrong?
I actually agree.
it's more similar to riddim which is a heavier, more repetitive subgenre of bro-step, less focused on build-up as well

>build-up
I guess that's true, in that doom metal doesn't do a lot of build-ups in the way dubstep does.
The dubstep drop really isn't all that different from the doom metal bass, though.

Post this in /metal/ for a better reaction

Maybe.
They'd probably just reject it out of hand, though. I'm saying it to be kind of inflammatory but I do think it's also pretty true that doom metal and dubstep work the same way.
that album is not brostep you fucking american

It has brostep in it.
Personally, I hate that term though, calling it dubstep is good enough. I know it sounds different from the UK shit, but who cares, genre distinctions can be rather broad and that's fine.

Skrillix is the literal definition of brostep

You have a good point actually
