Jeordie White is a very excellent writer of rock songs with a natural ear for minor key melodies. Brian Warner is just a showman who is half a notch smarter than the average idiot.

I liked Marilyn Manson a lot but I never got into NIN too much.

Their garage EP and first three albums were great. Their best sound was heavily punk-influenced and I admire them taking a unique vocalist on.

90's Korn was solid angstcore. Band went worse than shit after Head left. The first album, Follow the Leader, and Issues are still respectable.

>Nine Inch Nails
Trent has matured a lot since his early years. Quality soundtrack work and scoring. The Downward Spiral is the best album possible out of any of these artists.

>Marilyn Manson
Like Korn, Manson was a product of the 90's. He died in the early 2000's, but ultimately his image and anger-pop sound made a lasting impression on a bunch of scenes and subcultures. Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals are head and shoulders above everything else.

Most of us probably listened to them in middle school/high school so the immediate association is with angst and awkwardness, but I think there's some good stuff here.
