Were? You mean are.
They performed children at the BBC Ibiza prom. Amazing
RIP
Seems to have been a few Ibiza DJ's who've died fairly young, Guru Josh comes to mind.

Years of bombing MD will kill you
One of those songs that everyone recognises when they hear it. Late 90s commercial dance has its place in the hearts of a generation
RIP. My guess is either suicide or AIDS
Aw this is sad. Children was such a huge hit at the time. I remember that they even played it in the supermarkets.

>My guess is either suicide or AIDS
You guessed wrong edgelord.
>>72695194
you mean god tier
He apparently sold his rights to the song children in order to start up his project called open labs.
>>72693545
Damn, all of his music is pure 90s nostalgia
rip
He started the "dream house" hype. You couldn't escape it in Europe anywhere.

Fuck this is actually very sad.
I was downloading all these mtv retro videos and Children was so refreshing to hear even to this day, it made me feel like a child again, all this memories of listening music in the car of my parents without being an asshole and caring so much about stupid shit that I care nowdays with music.
How do I evoke this type of feeling thru my music? Is the cheap retro trance sounds? the composition of the whole thing? shit I don't know but it's beautiful.
>>72696687
Melody is the key
/mu/ is actually sad for once. Damn
>>72693545
Just when Rock is back...
Fantasya is also another fantastic track by him. It's worth a listen.
fuck you 2017
any idea how he died?
>>72696687
you need a lot of 9ths, sustaining organic sounding synths and reverb and delay
>>72696936
How he died is still unknown. I guess he must have had some disease with him for a long time.
R.I.P

Even Scaruffi liked him
>Robert Miles is an Italian disc jockey who invented the memorable refrain of Children, a simple melodic piano pattern surrounded by floating strings and synthesizers and propelled by a disco beat. That international million-seller established a new trend in melodic dance music, shifting the emphasis from the beat and the drugs back to the emotions. Dreamland (Arista, 1996) flies in orbit with a number of similar melodic dance tracks, each characterized by an intriguing diversion, whether the Morricone-style female vocalizing of Fantasya or the impressionistic new-agey piano brooding of Landscape the symphonic melodramatic pop theme of In My Dreams or the jovial fairy-tale lullaby of Princess Of Light. Miles' tunes are not too different from Richard Clayderman's piano ballads.

I wonder if anyone still knows this.

>trance
Good riddance
Took me a second to realize who he is and that I don't care at all.
Children is one of the cheesiest things ever recorded.
>>72700443
You've not listened to any Death Grips then?

Probably not for a while. Psytrance has taken up most of the trance airwaves as of late (no complaints from me) and a lot of the melodic/uplifting guys are changing their sound. Hoping we can go back to the Andy Blueman style.
