>>

>>72687616
>muh unusable middle position
>>
>>72687728
In normal operation, Stratocaster pickups aren't out of phase. There's some phase cancellation but that's not the same as having one pickup reversed with the hot and ground swapped over.

The Ovation Breadwinner pickups were genuinely out of phase, one had the ground and hot wires reversed compared to the other pickup. That never sounds good. It sounds thin and weak. Like your penis.

yeah but you think its unusable just the same because you're a fag. freddie king used pickups out of phase. jimmy page too. it made an interesting quacky sound. like the sound you make while sucking duck dick
>>
>>72687850
My main beef is that the Ovations only combine the pickups out of phase. I can understand people wanting switchable phase but only being able to combine them out of phase is objectively retarded.
>>
>>72687890
theres no problem in not having the option to both pickups in phase. the company wanted the model to be that way.
>>
So, im going to do it.

I want a white strat with a maple fretboard

Going to buy a strat from rondo since the cheapest I can find is a used $250 squire which i'm sure i'd have to out money into anyways. I know 2 anons claimed to be satisfied with rondoh' but wondering if anyone else has any info.

Website is difficult to look through, only strats I've found are the sx hawks. Seems alright, "alder" body and shit everything... but they come with d'addario strings from the factory! Anyone else know any strat knockoffs they sell?

They don't have any white hawks, so I'm just going to buy a natural one, strip it, and paint it. Going to buy better pickups, and I think I already have everything else to completely rewire it(maybe need to buy a 5 way switch). Probably will buy a wilkinson bridge and some better tuners.

Tl;dr anything about rondo strats
>>
if teles twang and strats quack, what do les pauls do?
>>
>>72687972
I just flat out hate the strangled sound you get from out of phase pickups. A guitar designed that way is something I'd never consider buying.

>>
>>72687996
No in fact some people keep them stock because they're pretty neat for the price. As a modding platform they're excellent. The good thing about rondo is their return policy. If anything is wrong it goes back without a problem. There is a white Hawk model but it has a rosewood neck that you don't want. If you replace the electronics it'll be good. Maybe tuners/nut/bridge if you want to go all the way.

Appreciate the reply. Going to pull the trigger on the hawk in the next 30 minutes if i don't find another strat clone. I might even leave the pups alone if they're good, just swap the cover for white. I tracked down that other one you mentioned, vintage white is basically what I want(no homo) but the neck is a deal breaker unfortunately. I gotta get my spray gun out for some cabinets soon anyways so I'll just kill 2 birds. I'm not just looking to mod for the sake of doing it, just in past experiences those seem to be trouble areas. If it's good stock I might buy a couple to do different things with

Do you know anything about interchangeability with parts for fender? I'm assuiming mostly there will be small differences that make them incompatible.

Pretty much all Strat copies have the same sized pickups. Tuner holes, bridge block measurements you may have to measure.

You'll also want to replace the shit-tier electronics, these switches are fit for the trash and they're fitted to every cheap far eastern guitar ever made.

I don't think Fender parts would fit but I don't actually know. There's a little site called "aguitarforum" that has a bunch of guys that are into modding rondos, search through there and ask if you have a specific part in mind. Possibly strattalk or tdpri forums, these sites all have people that like to get these guitars and fix them up.
>>
>>72688262
Pretty sure I have some nice switches from stewmac, I rewired 2 strats a couple years ago and i normally over buy to make sure if one's doa i have a back up. I bought a $800 ibenhad once that came new with a bad switch, easiest things to cheap out on. Do you know what routing is like under the pickguard? i'm assuming full cavity just cause speed/ease, but it doesn't really matter.

Talking about Kramers...
Is Kramer dead? I wanted a tiger Pacer so bad but I heard they're going out of business and if that's true the price is gonna skyrocket.

I think I only want three guitars more for my collection.
>Kramer Tiger Pacer
>Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul

Apologies for the blog post.

Gibson does own them but I heard rumors about them wanting to shut Kramer down or some shit.
Satchel from Steel Panther was their biggest artist and they had made signature models for him not too long ago but he's been playing Charvels since last December I think like that so something is definitely going on.
>Get the Kramer now and take lots of pictures when you get it
I just don't know. I have about $500 saved for a guitar and that's basically the whole price of the Washburn, free shipping because the place where I found it is a website from my country. Can't find any Kramer dealers below the Great Wall of Trump though, so I'd have to buy it on Ebay and then pay for shipping and customs, and that would be well over $1200.

What's wrong? The shiny spot?
I don't think it's bad. While I agree that relic'd guitars are bullshit (except if you're making a replica of an already famous guitar), when you have a shiny spot on a matte guitar it tells people that you actually play the shit out of that guitar.

That's why I don't mind that my most expensive guitar has scratches on the back from my clothes.

another option is picking up EQD White Light which is based on the 250 and combined with MXR Distortion it also has compression, heard it stacks well with their other pedal the Monarch

or would using the DOD 410 boost my amp into overdrive distortion territory be enough to get close to that sound?

Hey /gg/.

I'm looking to buy an acoustic guitar. I'm not very good at guitar, and I don't know much about them but I find it very cathartic and calming to play. I'd like something solid that would last 10 years. I've been searching around for guitars under $750 AUD, so far I've been looking at these two:
Cort MR710F
Art & Lutherie ART210

I always wanted a Seagull S6 Original, the neck made it feel effortless to play, however can't find it for the right price without getting it shipped from some questionable websites. Does anyone have any suggestions or help? Or can suggest a different model, tell me what to avoid?

Thanks

Fousrite 2i2(the one everyone has)
Various mics and a couple pre amps
Fl Studio or Pro Tools

Usually the process is program drums and synths in fl studio, i use amp sims when creating scratch tracks. Then I export midi, import into pro tools, load my v instruments, record di bass, and record guitar tracks. I actually mic cabs or an acoustic for guitars.

Eventually I'm going to get a better interface and a good bass amp, as well as an actual drum kit. I also use an edrum kit and an e piano ti record midi notation. I'd use pro tools exclusively if midi wasn't a shit.

>>
>>72697696

>>
>>72697703
Be proactive. Talk to everyone that plays an instrument in your area. Go to a music store, go to concerts, talk to band members, go to pawnshops and hang out like a creep around instruments, join facebook groups, get on instagram and post videos of you playing, respond to every shitty craigslist ad, start a youtube account, buy a newspaper and read the classifieds.

Talk. To. Everyone. You might have the idea you can find like minded people who are similar age, experience, skill, tastes... but that's not going to happen. Join shitty bands that need someone, make friends with everyone, find people who don't suck and like similar music, keep a running list in your head, eventually hit one of them with "we should jam sometime, i got a buddy that listens to X and plays Y."

Seriously, the only way if you don't already know people is to meet people and make compromises. I played in a shitty pop country band for almost a year just to steal the bassist.
>>
>>72697731
More clarity and power, one is tube so it can add some light grit. Depends on what I want. I still use the focusrite pres sometimes. Or say I want to use an old ribbon mic and a condenser. I run the condenser through a seperate pre with 48v so I can plug the ribbon directly in without worrying about damaging it. I use a very transparent ss pre with my sm57s. Depends on what I'm doing.

>>72697735
I prefer the tools, onboard effects, workflow and layout of pro tools. If you've never had to work extensively with midi editing in PT you've never experienced true pain and suffering. Joking aside fl studio makes midi stupid easy.

Ah ok, I didn't realize, you don't know the first thing about setting up a bass.

https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/DIY_How_to_Set_Up_a_Bass_Guitar

>Step 1: Measure the Neck Relief
>Step 2: Adjust the Truss Rod
...
>Step 4: Adjust Saddle Height

Like I said, you can't set your saddle heights until you get the right amount of curve in the neck. Enjoy spending days setting your bass up wrong then taking it to a competent repair guy who will set the neck relief first. Moron.
>>
>>72698103
....
Fuck off and stop being retarded.
I've set up my guitars and basses for years and I know what I'm doing, the fact that you don't know the first thing about neck geometry and how trussrod adjustments affect your action is very telling. Maybe stop mindlessly following guides on the internet and try to understand how your instrument works instead.

Now stop wasting my time.

Honestly i used a netbook and an interface with 2 room mics before. More clarity, more versatile, more reliable, but more shit to set up and more potential frustration.

Netbook worked well enough because I wasn't using effects or double tracking so I didn't have to worry about lag or latency as long as I had enough provessing power to run the daw.

I haven't used any of those little mobil recorders, but I have considered one simply for convenience when writing. I have a shit studio set up in my basement but if I'm upstairs watching tv, in the kitchen waiting for something to cook, whatever and inspiration hits it'd be nice to just press record and go. 4track lite on android is alright, but it's inconsistent depending on how your phone is setting and if you get a phone call it messes everything up. And being limited to 1, 2 or 5 minutes is a hassle.

I've heard mixed things about the little mobil ones with the mics built in, but I don't imagine they're too awful if you just want to be able to save ideas.

What's a good, reasonably priced amp that is easy to move around?
I bought my Fender Mustang I a while back and then a Marshall DSL40C later. But since I'm in college, I have to move shit around since I'm going back and forth for breaks.
Is it worth it to trade in these two amps at a store for a more portable amp that is also good? I love the Marshall but it's a bitch move around.
Currently I leave the Mustang at home and leave the Marshall at school, but I'm thinking it would be better to get a quality amp that is easy to move around.

On that note, if I traded it in, is Guitar Center a good place or should I go to a local shop?
>>
>>72698966
How many watts do you need?
>>
>>72698991
It doesn't matter much to me; I just fuck around at home. The Marshall is 40 watts.

am i a unreliable fucker for the band now
>>
>>72699046
Well, if you want some flexibility and small size I would recommend something like Vox VT20X. Modelling 20 W amp with tube preamp.

You also seem to rush a bit at times.
Do some right hand exercises and keep cool and you'll do great. Doesn't sound bad imo
>>
>>72698958
>>72699084
how good do you need it to sound?

Iommi only uses to save riffs he comes up with to later remember then to record

supposedly Brian May said Iommi has a huge catalog of unused of killer riffs good enough to make it on any record

Also keep your eyes open for local jam- and open mic sessions at bars and such. There's plenty of local clubs in my area who run these events on a monthly basis, I met many fellow musicians this way and even a few of them asked me to be their bassist (sadly I don't have time for a 2nd band)

Why doesn't /gg/ like doom LARPer's? Ive always wanted an OD120 or a Sunn Model T full stack just to make a lot of noise. Try it sometime, it's pretty fun.
>>72699946
I've played one a few times. If you like the vintage orange tone it does a pretty good job without killing your/your neighbors ears.
>>
>>72700067
It's not exclusive to /gg/, nobody likes doom larpers.
