I got kid into Root. I was 18 or 19 years old, in the magazine section of Border's book store, and this 15/16 year old black kid was listening to Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold and we ended up talking about music for a little bit and I gave him some of my CDs (since they were burned and I could just make more), I think it was Madness of the Graves or Black Seal, and I also gave him compilations I made of random shit I was into. He ended up really liking Root a lot, though I don't know what ever became of him.

It's been a really long time since I got into any new releases in metal. Since I already went through all of the old school stuff a long time ago, I usually come to these threads and see a lot of the same stuff I already know just being discovered by people, which with all due respect is fine. I just don't feel like going to nuclear war now and forums and blogs and stuff like that and scoping out all the underground releases like I used to. You'd usually find some pretty good gems that way, but I'd also have to dig through literally 99% crap until I'd find something which I would still listen to years down the line. Some of my favorite black metal releases I found that way though.

People into black metal really need to vary their taste in music. I always see people on last.fm who literally only listen to black metal and/or other types of metal. It's sad, and there's so much more music out there than just metal. I mean, with all due respect this is from someone who's probably the most into metal out of the majority of people in this thread.

Yes. It's excellent. I think many people hoped to hear something similar to The Voice of Steel and The Spirit Never Dies and now think this is not as good.

At first this album may seem less "epic" and it certainly isn't as catchy but the epicness is still there. It's just not as obvious or cheesy as last time. The music is also a lot more nuanced and there's generally more atmosphere, which I like. I think this album demands a lot more attention from the listener but it's it's also gratifying. A good pair of speakers/headphones is recommended. The songwriting is also more consistent this time. The first half of The Voice of Steel was noticeably weaker than the second. This definitely won't be remembered as a classic the same way as The Voice of Steel is but I think it's untruthful to call this worse. This will probably grow on most people, even if they don't like it at first.

Everything has its time and place. I think nowadays many people don't understand what national pride is. It's not about taking credit for someone else's work nor thinking that you're always the best. It's more like being glad when someone succeeds, working to make things better and cherishing the things that make you unique. I appreciate the work past generations have done for Finns and Finland and I will improve upon their work. I also believe that every culture and ethnic group has an equal right to exist and flourish and that right should be protected. Immigration, race-mixing and multiculturalism represent social Darwinism at its finest. Multiculturalists and their kind are jealous people and say that any kind of success is always unfair due to white guilt, class struggle or some other excuse, they want everything given to them and they have a low self-esteem, which makes them hate themselves. Globalists aren't much better. They only think about money and themselves in that order. There's also a "Western culture" being spread by big corporations and it's overriding local cultures. It's sad to see everything turn American only because American corporations have a lot of money.

Either way, Vanitas onward he puts more of an effort into the pronounciation (a bit) and also beefs up his cleans.
The musical quality takes a serious hit though.
