I hate summer

vaporwave has some decent albums, particularly towards the beginning of its creation. you have to be in a very specific mood to enjoy them though. and there's a ton of trash out there

The only truly great vaporwave album is Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1. Make sure you find the right version that is at the right speed and pitch. Some other projects are worth hearing, and there are probably some good albums hidden somewhere, but that's the gem of the genre and it was basically the first album of its kind.

It's a fucking meme genre that has a catalogue comprised mostly of 80s songs, especially those of Japanese origin, played at a 75-50% slower speed and adding in some dumb effects to make it sound like it was recorded on a cassette tape, then stored improperly for 25 years. Same with future funk.

A lot of it is just untalented people slowing down 80s songs. But there is some good stuff too.

I personally recommend Blank Banshee, although some don't even consider him vaporwave.
