its become my top AOTY for me, those two tracks, and both star roving and dont know why are also very good songs

It's pretty good. I'm glad it's just my another rehash of their previous material and did something a but different this time around. I think it's above just for a day for sure. Not the best shoegaze album of this year, but it's pretty damn close.

Really amazing, been looking forward to it for so long and it actually surpassed my expectations

Cerebrotonia was best feels-core of this year. It's a comfy debut. Don't know the band but they need to put on some shows soon.

Didn't think it was that good. It sounds like a bit like a generic nu-gaze band. Neil's vocals have gotten a bit worse and Rachel barely sings, which is a bummer.

Judging by the singles Ride has put out this year, I expect Ride to have the better comeback album.

I'm still really excited about Slowdive's tour, though! I'm sure they'll put on a great show at my local venue.

Really? I thought "Charm Assault" and "Home Is A Feeling" were great tracks. Mark's vocals sound really good. I can hear they're not only still on top of their game, but they're actually sounding better than they did on their last album. I thought they did a good job of retaining their classic sound and making it more modern sounding without compromising their originality.

Slomo, No Longer Making Time and Go Get it are fucking 11/10

I didn't really like the 2nd branch records on this chart. Chapterhouse, Cocteau Twins or Lilys. I recommend a few that I like;

If you liked loveless go for Fleeting Joys or Astrobrite. LSD and the search for god is also a better start than Lilys if you liked loveless.

I just got home and the new Slowdive was in my mailbox. Will give it a few listens tonight.

Never knew an album so accessible could be such a grower. I really liked about three or four of the tracks when it leaked, but not all of them. I've now listened to the album about 10 times and seen them live since then and I have to say it's wonderful. They don't try to be themselves 20 years ago and try some new ideas that don't come off as forced.

Very disappointing album. I was hoping they would one up Pygmalion since it's their magnum opus. Instead they just reverted back to boring shoegaze that sounds like souvlaki.

Go Get It and Falling Ashes are my favorites because they're a completely new dimension of "the Slowdive sound", nothing on any of their other albums sounded like those songs.

picked up a vinyl copy today on a whim. can't speak for anything other than that version but the production is pretty damn good imo

My deluxe edition hasn't come in but I've been listening to the leak for weeks now so fuck it. It's almost on par with Souvlaki and Pygmalion, definitely better than Just For A Day. Certainly haven't done their legacy a disservice here. I think it's their most solid batch of songs, not a weak one in the bunch. Even my least favorites are still quite good. It's also nice how they didn't completely abandon the Pygmalion sound with Falling Ashes.
