Whenever I think of a good album I think of something that is coherent and carries through with a solid and unique sound while delivering a clear message, feeling, or at least sens of journey. Close to the Edge, Geogaddi, Wish You Were Here, Paper Mache Dream Balloon, TPAB and GoodKidMadCity, and most good prog rock have this in common. Are there any other sub genres or maybe new albums that follow that similar kind of formula or does anyone even know what I'm specifically talking about. Dark red by shlohmo is also a great example I need something that paints a picture.
Selected Ambient Works: Vol. 1 & 2, Aphex Twin
Lots of black metal pulls it off. Hvis Lyset Tar Oss makes me have a trancelike experience every time.

Yea I've listened to him extensively
I used to lay in the snow and smoke cigs staring at the sky
Probably the most edgy but enjoyable moment of my adolescence

I'm afraid I have too much disdain for the genre to be so open minded to even a wealth of what I'm looking for however I'll give what you're speaking of a try

Yea aphex twin, huva network(and almost anyone in their record label) seems to understand this very well.

I layed and listened to com truise I apologize for not adding that
I think com truise is a really good example actually but it's a certain feeling that I get from listening to a whole album by him that I look for in music in general. Mac demarco, Miles Davis, pink Floyd, tame Impala, king crimson etc all are very good at this. But I don't know what a good name for this kind of feeling is.

what is "concept album"
I just realised that cover is an extremely distorted version of the I'm in your mind fuzz castle

what genre is this?
if you were forced at gunpoint to remix it, how would you do it?

The mountain on the cover for I'm In Your Mind Fuzz also appears on Nonagon Infinity.
