what's some music like this but angrier?
don't post cop or public castration or any swans for that matter
not cop by not the swans
>>72557345
oh i haven't heard that one thanks
i honestly have no idea what it could possibly be that isn't just ridiculous
>>72557422
i listen to a lot of no wave but filth is probably the angriest album in the genre
i mean it's a pretty angry genre as a whole but there's not much else that's as heavy
i'm just super fucking pissed and it's not cutting it
>>72557294
my band - my band's album
>>72557294
>>72557464
the angriest records I've ever heard is Whitehouse output in the early 2000s (Mummy and Daddy, Bird Seed, Cruise)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnPH4VS5ZuI
>>72557489
this is neat but no way is it as angry as filth
>>72557575
i'm not really into power electronics but i guess it is pretty hard to get angrier without playing straight up noise
you'd probably like this, as well as steele's prior band carnivore
>>72557294
Virtually any beatdown hardcore album.
It's tough guy wigger music but it sure as hell sounds angrier than anything from Swans. Swans is mostly just harsh and tense, not really angry.
>>72557658
i'd consider swans pretty fucking angry, time is money for example
maybe it isn't a very good word to describe it with though because i get what you're saying
>>72557651
sounds a little cheesy to me, idk i really don't like metal much at all
i guess i'm just looking for more no wave after all
>>72557776
well certainly no other no wave comes very close to early swans
as for that album, all i can say is there's much more to it than you think but it's not for everyone even in metal. if you give yourself to it you will probably get it, it's very deliberately composed.
>>72558175
maybe i'll listen to it another time, the first track had a few interesting moments i guess
>>72558325
trust me, the whole album is full of powerful and shocking moments, it's suspenseful as fuck. i'm not even much of a metal person either, but this is just a great fucking album. and that's not saying anything about the narrative and backstory of it, it came as the result of a suicide attempt and it shows. and you need to play it loud for the full effect, too.
Godflesh
White Suns
The Gerogerigegege
>>72557345
No Wave except this time it has a female vocalist and free jazz.
Still insanely angry.
>>72559512
THIS oml its such a great album, definitely recommend it
also maybe try out Deathpile by GR, Birdseed by whitehouse, punishment room by distorted pony and anything by animal collective
>>72557776
It's a little bit purposefully cheesy, both legitimately angry and self-aware/self-parodical with a real sense of dark humour about it.
Not the pure darkness of Filth desu.
Slow, Deep, and Hard is a god-tier metal album though.
>>72559512
It doesn't quite have the unstoppable, beastly power of Filth, though. A few tracks get there but for the most part it's not as thicc if you get what I mean.
filth is my favorite swans record and this one scratches a similar itch for me
>>72557294
I cant believe nobody has mentioned streetcleaner - godflesh
They took huge inspiration from filth and in my opinion did it best.

>>72560461
>>72557294
yeah op definitely listen to godflesh. this is the best song though
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8lTbKmcmIY
>>72557294
If you want something reasonably similar in sound Godflesh is going to be your best bet. Honestly though you're at the point where you're probably going to need to start listening to straight up noise, after a while nothing else will scratch that itch
>>72557294
Just listen to Sludge metal
>>72557294
I suspect you're looking for something with a very slow, martial beat that has even more demented vocals and even more tortuous industrial noises.
>>72557294
Cannibal Corpse
Gnaw Their Tongues might be too metal and/or too noisy, but when I think of raw, perverse, angry, and gritty, they're one of the first bands to come to mind.
Still, I'm with most of the others in this thread: I don't think you can match the mix of anger, brutality, and sadism/masochism that early Swans brought to the table without going into the realm of metal or noise.
>>72559895
Seconded.
>>72560686
I think OP mentioned he didn't really like metal, but sludge typically has a lot of anger in it.
Lord Mantis
Dragged Into Sunlight
Primitive Man
Stone Titan
Vermin Womb
Gaza
Cult Leader
Withered
Just to name a few
>>72557294
Big Black
Ministry with Land of Rape and Honey
The Coltranes
The Jesus Lizard all bands that are really angry if we're talking the same kind of vibes Orchid is really cool too probably one of my favorite bands of all time
Maybe :Wumpscut:

Cory & The Mandara Suicide Pyramid Or Gas Satori is the most cathartic song of all time. Guarantee you will never find a song with such visceral screaming as that song (once it gets going, about 4 minutes 30 seconds in).
>>72557776
try birdseed
>>72560490
That's not VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEINNNNNNNZZZ u gay
>>72561150
different album fuckstick
and the whole of side 1 is better than locust furnace
>>72557294
>>72561947
this
>>72561120
This roster is mad af, it's punch-the-wall angry. I'd add
Jay Reatard
In Utero
Hush - Tool
RATM (blow me)
Some hardcore punk stuff
Static Age - Misfits
Everything with Danzig on it, he's one angry little man
i refuse to believe we've gone this far in a thread about angrier music without a reference to swans' live album public castration is a good idea
>>72557294
Junkyard is just as angry at times.
>>72560490
>>72561150
>>72561833
Christbait Rising, because of the riff.
>>72563867
OP said he doesn't want other Swans albums
>>72561137
all these were top-notch thanks anon
Public Castration is about as heavy as you are going to go without differing to various genres of metal. Trust me, I've been there. Spent months trying to find similar shit to Cop and Filth, only to give up and start listening to other genres.
>>72560461
I don't really like this at all desu
it sounds like they just copied filth
>>72559512
op here
this is the best suggestion in the thread
I GOT SOMETHING TO SAY!
>>72557294
this will blow your mind
>>72563974
DON'T

CHRISTBAIT
SLUGBAIT
BRING YOU DOWN.
BOOM BOOM BAHHH
It doesn't exist.
No band can be as angry as Swans without appearing edgy, and no band can be as energetic without appearing juvenile.
>>72565477
this
This is pretty angry, especially cause it builds up a tension from the beginning and just explodes
>btw this shit happened at freaking Nu-metal era Ozzfest

>>72565222
No problem man.
>>72559512
Holy SHIT I'm glad I came back to this thread.
El bumpo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oODpZ8RLiaA
angriest song ever made imo
>>72563867
It was literally in the OP ya dingus.
