Read and discuss his reviews, his lists (not just on music, but on books and cinema), and his essays. See if he's responded to our emails (he usually does as long as you keep it short and simple and don't challenge him too much). And my favorite, do a group listening of any of his 7.5 and up albums (we sometimes do a 7 if the review makes it seem interesting enough).
