Itt: give qualities and traits you want in an album and others rec something similar
>slightly punky, fun.
>boyish lo fi vocals
>a little more complicated than pop-punk
>nice, catchy vocal melodies with some harmonies and occasional screams
It doesn't have to have all this traits but two of would be nice.

>It made me go listen to breakcore like Venetian Snares
Fuck yeah I love Venetian Snares.
Vsnares/Autechre/Aphex are some of my favorite musicians of all time and I always wanted to hear some of their more frantic moments mixed with a really creative rock band like Battles or something

>>72526027

That's not bad, but the track I heard (2 Towers) wasn't exactly the same listening experience, if you get what I mean. It's not aggressive in the same way, and also it's purely instrumental? It's also pretty drawn out and repetitive, unlike TO's burst(s) of energy.
>>
>>72526096

It's funny, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I've become absolutely obsessed with albums that build up amazing melodies for some time, and then absolutely take a giant poopy shit all over everything great they just did, by putting something abrasive over it, cutting it short, or having lyrics detailing the process of ordering a fuckton of food at a toilet smelling taco joint. That's pretty vague, so my lists end up including everything beteen Ween, Pharoah Sanders, Simon Finn, Zappa, Bauhaus, along with most post-punk and every spiritual jazz artist.

Crazy instrumentation is gud too

>>
>>72535377
Nah I wouldn't say that at all. Jeff Mueller and Sean Meadows' approach to guitar greatly differs from Brian McMahan, Britt, and David Pajo's. Engine Takes To Water is completely devoid of any sort of solo unlike Spiderland, (Breadcrumb Trail, Washer). Spiderland also lacks the lullaby like guitar plucks present on the first track Have A Safe Trip, Dear. The lyrics for said track are also more surrealistic than anything on Spiderland. Jeff Mueller's vocals are also more booming and loud than Brian's or Britt's. The differences goes on and it gets to a point where you wonder why you made the comparison at all.
