That's YOUR interpretation of the song. Whenever he talks about bad shit, you will always say it's "ironic" because if it were not it would be extremely stupid. But the truth is that these songs are made to bump to. People are not listening to Kendrick talk about drugs and killing and shit and going "Oh he's condemning them". Not... really? Kendrick doesn't really make party music or cruising music most of the time. There's maybe 2 or 3 tracks per album and the rest tends to be these stretched out, patient slow burners with weird song structures jumping from one thing to another, with a lyrical focus, with sometimes very abstract or thoughtful lyrics, and overall it seems really introspective and like Kendrick is a quiet guy who gets loud because it's his art. Did you listen to Swimming Pools (Drank) and think it was all like that or something?
