Why do people pretend that music "grows on them"? Either you like it or you don't. Otherwise you're just forcing yourself to like it because you have fond memories of the artist's other songs.

That's not true

Sometimes people don't like an album the first time around. OP is retarded.

I used to hate every song on the king of limbs except seperator, but over time the king of limbs grew on me.

You're not entirely wrong OP. And you've clearly triggered several different autists who forced themselves to like /mu/core.

So much projection.

It's not about forcing yourself to enjoy something. It's the fact that there are subtleties in music that may not be picked up on the first listen.

That's why I said he's not entirely wrong. Albums often get better after several listens, but there has to be something there for you to return to it in the first place.

/mu/core is basically tier 2 pop. You shouldn't have to force yourself to like it. Usually when encountering more difficult music that you are not used to, you need to listen to it several times in order to understand it and then be able to understand other music of similar inaccessibility
Giving a piece of art a second chance is not 'forcing yourself to like it'. People don't do that anyway unless there is external pressure.
Not really caring about music doesn't make you any smarter btw, some of us invest more time in it than you.
