8/10, I listen to it every couple weeks

I enjoyed it once while high. The album art is kinda silly though, isn't it? There's a mural of it in my city I drive past every day, and the random assortment of meaningful symbols loses all meaning in amalgamation; maybe I just don't get it.

Are the symbols tied to the songs at all? I've only heard to the album a handful of times; only once sitting through actually listening. I guess I'll listen again and see if the cover takes on a new meaning.

Probably, I think everything about the album is just an aesthetic choice. Which personally I don't mind, as a listener there's not much difference between vague-but-meaningful-sounding lyrics or symbols and nonsense lyrics or symbols.

the more time passes the more it grows away and I see it as a gimmicky release. it's definitely his worst release, he didn't make the jump to indietronica nearly as smoothly or successfully as say Animal Collective or Sufjan Stevens. it's still alright though, I just think the best songs are clearly the most stripped back ones (creeks, moon water, 45)

I felt changing up his sound wasn't necessary but he could have improved on the sounds from FE,FA. It just didn't felt like if Iron and Wine tried to satirically mock the album "Yeezus"
