What are some of /mu/'s favorite Steely Dan records? So

Gaucho, Pretzel Logic, Can't Buy a Thrill, and Countdown to Ecstasy are my favorites.

the royal scam, aja, and gaucho are the holy trinity of the dan.
pretzel logic and countdown to ecstasy are also really great albums.

each one had to take a while to settle with me before they clicked but all of them have. well im still getting there with katy lied but i still enjoy listening to it from time to time

That's why it's my favorite album, being a drummer and such really makes this album even more impressive. Second best album drum-wise is Aja imo, just because Steve Gadd is a fucking legend. Sure some of the parts are really minimal but it fits together so perfectly.

Steely Dan never put out a bad album but I tend to gravitate towards Aja a lot.

lol me too. i actually really like the album art now but it put me off to listening to the album for longer than it should have.
