let's have a post-punk thread but one that isn't 90% Joy Division

PiL and the Fall are the best post punk bands.
>>72407007
Haven't listened to the Fall yet, but I love PiL. I think that First Issue is amazing, while I didn't particularly enjoy Metal Box or The Flowers of Romance. Everything I've heard about them is present on First Issue - Keith Levene's weapon-like guitar sound, experimentation, interesting lyrics, unique sound.
I always find post-punk, just not as good as pre-punk.
Considering how similar they sound.

Metal Box and the Flowers of Romance are amazing, they're just a bit inaccessible.
The Fall is fucking fantastic. They have a huge number of albums with a wide range of styles. Their most accessible is The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall, but also check out Bend Sinister and Perverted by Language.

If you like that, listen to 'Live at the Witch Trials - The Fall'
Wonderful and freightening and bend sinister are more indie post-punk than anything

Thank you very much. I'm not a stranger to experimental and otherwise inaccessible music, which I almost always find gripping, but those two albums didn't do it for me the fist time. Perhaps they would "get better" with multiple listens. Given that I enjoy satire, sinister and frightening music and lyrics, what other post bunk bands would you recommend? Or would that cross into the realm of zolo perhaps? Oh, and as far as sinister and frightening music goes, I expected exactly that from Joy Division. Apart from the lyrics and the way they are sung, their music doesn't really sound depressing.

Not sure about zolo influenced punk but these guys>>72406801 do some improvised and experimental post-punk in this
