I feel like I just don't enjoy music anymore and I have no idea what to listen to anymore. Can someone recommend me some albums or maybe new genres I'll like? These are my favorite albums:
>Hvis Lyset Tar Oss by Burzum
>When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath
>Fantasy Empire by Lightning Bolt
>Dopethrone by Electric Wizard
>TBK by Swans
>ITAOTS by NMH
Yada, yada I know it's pleb, whatever.

Isn't that similar to emo? I can't stand the vocals.

I burned out on hip hop in middle school.
Stop listening to music for a while. Go outside. Interact with people. Gain a fresh perspective.
Then go back to it.
Do you like folk? there's a lot of cool stuff apart from the usual indeh folk and dadfolk that mu talks about.
I'm afraid you've reached the final level. Get a different hobby :(

I actually haven't been listening to music much for the last six months or so which is why I ask.

Is very hit or miss for me, I really like some of it such as Comus and NMH and Jordaan Mason but can't stand others. As a whole most of it is too slow and soft for me.
Stop getting your music from /mu/

Oh if you don't like soft folk you probably won't like most of my recs

I need something to listen to when I get the itch though

it is but if you're thinking of whiny or screamed vocals there's a ton of post-hardcore without them
Try the bands Unwound, Quicksand, Hum, Fugazi, and Helmet

i unironically listen to animal collective almost exclusively.

This honestly
I have over 7000 scrobbles on last.fm from them alone, I've been listening to them since October nonstop

get into techno, the fast unrelenting furious stuff though. I guess it's hard to get into techno. I dunno, you may find it to not be cathartic but rather monotonous. i'm kind of ambivalent toward how repetitious and monotonous a lot of it is, but I think there's plenty of techno that can feel transcendent. you'll burn out on it like the rest of music but you might as well get into it as a last resort lol
