The fact that a lot of people listened to the album and thematically concluded that there was a second album coming just proves that DAMN. wasn't as good as his previous work. Discuss

i think if people initially thought that, they're just stupid
I think it was a fair assumption after Sounwave posted that matrix picture... still not sure what he was trying to convey with that
Was there supposed to be a blue pill? I don't understand what he was getting at
GKMC > DAMN. > TPAB > S.80 > UU
if you're curious what I thought
it proves that a lot of people really like Kendrick Lamar
DAMN wasn't as good because the beats and lyrical content are nothing special. But it's less pretentious and way more listenable than TPAB, which is an overly hefty album.

haven't heard S.80 but this looks like a good album
No, dumb Internet commenters just ran away with speculations based on a tweet.
The truth is that "Damn" as an album tells its story more through the lyrics than through interludes or skits, so people assumed there was a second half to this concept when it had actually come full-circle and wrapped up pretty nicely on Duckworth

*like a good ranking

A few of these speculations started a good week before the album came out.
But I agree, it's probably his 'worst' effort to date.
drake on suicide watch
Still don't understand the underlying story behind DAMN, I thought GKMD and TPAB were pretty easy to grasp but this one just fucking confuses me

The fact that people were expecting a sequel has nothing to do with the quality of DAMN.
It was because they misinterpreted that Sounwave tweet and then didn't believe him when he said that he was referring to the final mix of the album.
Moral of the story; never underestimate the levels of retardation people are capable of.
