I needed to take one more Linguistic class to graduate as a Ling major, and Old Norse was offered as a Ling class. Some people mentioned most of the readings were going to be on Norse mythology. That sounded fun so I decided to take it. I didn't know Icelandic was so close to ON though, that was a welcomed surprise.

Thats cool.
Also, its not music but you should definetly read Independent People by Halldor Laxness or anything by laxness really, it's my favourite author and im actually jelly that you can read it in icelandic ;)

Thanks man!
You should take a look at this site: https://notendur.hi.is/haukurth/norse/olessons/lessons.html
It helped me on the first couple of weeks, and you get a feel on how both languages work. It can be a bit disorienting and challenging at first as each word "transforms" depending on what part of the sentence they belong to, but once you get the hang of it you start noticing patterns.
