Funny thing about how the sides are ordered
The first disc (which is the film one) is sides 1 and 4 and the other is 2 and 3 so it's a really disjointed experience listening to it
The tracks line up perfectly strangely enough

Back when I had a college radio show I would play the ripped audio from the JCSS movie every year on Good Friday. The mix in the film itself is ostensibly better than on the released soundtrack, despite all the on-set noises.

Both versions have their strong points. Some of the lyrics were revised for the film release to be less controversial so I feel like the album is the more authoritative version.

I'll be damned though if Barry Dennen isn't top of mind when I try to picture Pilate.
