My dad has alzheimers and the stuff he does is so cringey and simultaneously heartwrecking that the only thing that can help me disconnect me from reality is this violent ear-rape. Not my fav merzbow album though

I just recently got into actual harsh noise, and yes, I really like this.

I think of it the same way as why I like horror movies, books about war and genocide, extremely spicy food and various other things on the fringes that aren't automatically associated with positive feelings. The extremes are outside of my comfort zone, and I like being challenged. It gives a "kick", and feeling something strongly - whatever it is - is a helluva lot more fun than not feeling anything particular. I try not to overdo it though since it can easily turn into an obsession for me and lose its effect.

Yea i dont get it either. I try to hear the patterns people cite forwhy they enjoy it but it always just gives me a headache :( am i just too much of a pussy for this music or what?
