Do something extremely bloated just to break past it, then strip it down. Sometimes it's hard to visualize yourself actually completing something because you simply aren't familiar with the feeling. Once you get in the swing of it you'll be fine. Most people are going to disagree with me on this but instead of saving project files just export whatever you have, no stems. Kill of tweaking it any further and just let it be. This will help you accept letting go/finishing. It's not like you'll never make anything else anyway.

I liked it! Not much to comment on since it's so short, some more progression would be nice - add more elements and make the piece more complex while keeping the eerie/creepy feel would be good.

I like the use of the vocal sample in the beginning and the way that it transitions into the drums then changes, the bass works really well with the kick also (around 0:32)

What you've got so far is a good base for a track, I would keep adding new things and experimenting with techniques, maybe incorporate a bridge/chorus where you switch it up a bit, then go back to the main part. I'm not great at building stuff from scratch so my advice might not make much sense but I think this track has potential.

Posted this a few days ago, added more elements to the beat. I feel like either the drums or vocals are missing something but I'm not quite sure what, thoughts? Also I have a female vocalist lined up for the hook and a bridge section at the end, they're just instrumental sections at the moment.

Hey man, not sure what you're going for here. Not trying to be a dick. But I can't tell if you're just looping the sample without placing any drums over it. I'm pretty sure there's a kick but it's very quite. Try articulating it more so it sticks out in the mix. I have the same issue since i like filtering my kicks a lot.

I don't really care for the sample as well but that's just personal preference. Has a nice change though halfway thru.

This is pretty cool, I like the bass and chords, not a huge fan of the voice personally. I think the kick and snare should be a bit louder, and the track on the whole could use more panning. The writing is nice though, musically this is really cool.

Pretty cool, got me bouncing a bit. The drums just after the drop could use a bit of a rhythmic change but I feel thats more a personal taste thing for me. Otherwise mix-wise those cymbal hits are a bit flat, could use a bit of sizzle. The entire thing is a touch long for my liking but again that could just be a personal taste thing. Keep up the good work!

The tactile switches are making, breaking, and remaking the circuit when pressed, and sometimes cleaning the switches won't fix that if the switches are beyond saving.

Test this by triggering the sounds via MIDI - if the sounds don't display the same double-triggering with MIDI then your switches are at fault and you'd need to replace them.

Pads on drum machines have switches under them - specifically momentary switches like most buttons you see on things, and they wear out after heavy use on older bits of kit.

Sometimes they just accumulate grime on their contacts and a good clean with some contact cleaner spray will restore them (this is what most service centres will do for the basic job) but with older devices they will start to mechanically fail too, in that their spring mechanisms won't work so well, usually due to metal fatigue.

With membrane switches the failure is nearly always grime but they do suffer wear and tear too and with wear they will need replaced.
