this is a much worse feeling
TVU&N wasn't as good as everyone says
It's not BAD, like 7 I guess
How much of a basic bitch do you have to be to feel like your taste must be identical to critics? This is an 18+ website.
>caring what people think of things
>not purposely choosing to enjoy things the majority dislikes
In fact, a piece loses its value the more people have listened to it.

Eh, I feel worse realizing what I love is acclaimed because so much that is acclaimed is mediocre
That said, it may just be that I have difficulty understanding different groups of people are making things acclaimed and it's not like the same person loves The Police, Coil, Bing Crosby and Beethoven
Still, it is disheartening, seeing something like the absolutely pathetic RYM Top 500 albums (of which I've heard like 490) and how most of them aren't even in my Top 500 and then realizing like my Top 5 all are in their 500...it makes it really hard to know which recommendations are worth exploring

mostly when that happens the album actually has serious flaws but i can look past them as a fan of the band
