>clipping is shit
>they are just copying death grips, techno animal, and dalek

Hmm...
oh wow mane they're nominated for literally who: the award, they must be good!
clipping and dalek > dg
>>71973136
None of those bands are anything like eachother.
>>71973273
This desu.
>>71973273
Yeah clipping are more influenced by noise power electronics, and a bit of music concrete than anything else. Dalek and Techno Animal are more industrial influenced and Death grips at their most experimental are more glitch influenced.
It's kind of funny how uneducated hip hop fans hear artists doing something more experimental and just lump it all together under "weird shit I don't understand lol"
>>71973136
The nominations for this are so shit lmao
>Deadpool
>Ghostbusters
>Hidden Figures
>Rogue One
>Stranger Things
>bunch of episodes from other extremely popular tv shows
Arrival is the best one there and that isn't saying much
Also how can they nominate this and not have nominated Deltron 3030 when it came out?
First time I've heard of this award but jesus this is shit
Also Death Grips has never released a Sci-Fi album and I don't think Dalek has either. Never listened to techno animal
SHE WILL NOT LOSE
>>71973252
clipping is lackluster rapping put over boring beats that people only think are unique because they sample power electronics
i will say the way they sample whitehouse on wriggle is Very Groovy though
>>71973810
everything that has been nominated is shit
Primer or Upstream Color weren't even nominated when capeshit and harry potter are
>>71973136
>hugo awards
>>71973810
holy shit those are all actual nominees? lmao what the fuck
>>71973981
as a primer enthusiast im unsure if i should watch upstream color, would you reccomend
They did a pretty sweet What's In My Bag for Amoeba.

not him but absolutely. it's got a much more indie/artsy vibe than primer so if you're really against that kind of thing be warned but it still has that same kind of dense bizarre plot that makes primer so unique. plus it's a little less rough around the edges technically which works in its favor. i've only seen it once but it definitely deserves repeated viewings
>>71973888
this. saw them open for the flaming lips last week and thought the exact same thing.
>>71973810
Yeah the hugos suck - they're based on a popular vote lmao. It's gotten hilariously bad in the past few years, with all the sad puppy shit and the resulting backlash. The nebula awards are a lot better, but even they've been iffy lately.
>>71973136
clipping. are unironically the worst band i have ever heard
their most popular album is trash anyway
