What's up with hip hop and 'beefs'? Like just let the music speak for itself lmao

because its a "game" like sports.
Being competitive in music is a good thing.
SIT DOWN
BE HUMBLE

yaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssss kendrick slaaaaaaaayyyyyy
Why do people place so much emphasis on "verses" and "flow" and "rhyme" instead of appreciating the music as a whole? How is this any different than some guitarfag that fetishizes guitar solos?

Underrated

they're manufactured for publicity

One wears a fedora and is awkward outside of his music, the other does not.
Beefs started out a legit things during gangsta rap, people would get beat up or even killed.
In 2017 its some wwe tier shit rappers do to get attention or sell albums.
Sometimes a lower tier rapper will talk about a rising or upper tier rapper just to get attention.

The Heart Part 4 was good but Humble kinda sucked.
its a commercially rich genre where artists can piggy back off of eachothers fame and tmz style "beef" helps to keep or make both sides relevant
It adds to the entertainment value

because neger
Rap has turned into such shit. It used to be counter culture like punk but now is watered down mainstream garbage. I blame pitchfork and white guilt.

What's up with black people and 'getting shot by the cops'? Like just let the crime rate speak for itself lmao

>le everyone who doesn't like hip-hop is a fedora neckbeard man
go fantasise about your gf getting fucked by Jerome, cuck
I was just thinking about this last night, why is it that hip-hop is about getting one over the other guy? Are there examples of this in other genres?

Anger can be as good a motivator for music as any other emotion, and image is very important in mainstream hip-hop.
I really like the track; the sparse beat and underplayed delivery are both pretty nice, and it has enough energy to work at a party while also being a good song. The music video was fun but a bit cheesy.

It started far before P4k started wanking itself of nigger culture.

I agree with this post.

Lemme clarify, I agree with anon up to the guilt part

The equivalent during rock's heyday during the 70's wasn't feuding between artists/bands but drama within the bands themselves.
Hence getting works like Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and Fragile by Yes.
Though there are hip-hop groups, most artists are solo so instead the vitriol happens between different figures.
Talking shit also lends itself well to hip-hop.
There's also the fact that the entertainment media tends to publicize feuds between hip-hop artists a lot more than, say, if two popular folk musicians were feuding. There might be some racism there, I don't know.
