holy fuc /mu/, it clicked.
>see this on mu
>i check out this album
>hear first track immediately off put (first willing time listening to glitch)
>check out YWNKW
>love it
>eventually come back to VDC after dabbling in music a year or two later
>hear the second part of Velocity ... all of Sept... all of To All the Dancers...
might be my favorite album of all time so far now. how the fuc was this made in 2003?
RUN AWAAAAYY
~ BREAK DOWN BABY ~
It's the GOAT
It didn't do anything for me the first time, and I love both glitch and shoegaze. Was some time ago though, I should give it another try I think.
>>71936532
i'll never understand how pleb you have to be to not have accessible albums like this ""click"" the first time listening
>>71936712
????
I seriously hope you don't form your definitive opinion on something the first time you hear it. and i seriously hope you dont think this is that accessible, show 10 of your friends this literally only 1 or 2 would like it
>>71936532
>how the fuc was this made in 2003?
calm you tits and listen to more electronic, it's an alright record but hardly revolutionary
>>71936770
it's pretty ahead of its time i'd say
>>71936770
Rec me some more revolutionary, intellegent, and preferably psychadellic electronic albums
>>71936802
ohh that's a tall order, but if it's supposed to be psychadelic then i would go with Fantasma by Cornelius
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukFU6D9xa1c
>>71936929
That song sounds great, definitely gonna check out the album. Rec me some patriciancore electronic. I'm a fan of Flying Lotus and Aphex Twin and I'm trying to get more into the genre.
>>71936929
I love cornelius, but there's nothing really like VDC as a whole.
Nice OP, now enjoy the eternal despair of never finding another remotely similar album
>>71936532
Overrated gimmicky meme album
Loving the attention this album has been getting recently.
Check this album out
>>71937219
bunch of buzzwords to really say nothing and to show that you know nothing about this album other than "its different sux lul"
>>71937406
>overrated
People heap praise on it despite the fact that it sucks
>gimmicky
Relies too heavily on a gimmick (superficial fusing of two different genres) and most of the acclaim is based on this gimmick
>meme
Spammed on here all the time despite not really being a notable release
>album
A collection of recordings released in the form of a long-playing record
Which one is the buzzword again? Oh yeah, it's "buzzword"
>>71936802

This was fucking released in 1994 dude. How the fuck is /mu/ so pleb?
>>71937451
holy fuck i can't tell if you're being retarded on purpose or not
you just literally spelled out for everyone on this board to see that you are a pretentious loser who thinks the relevancy of an album is important lmfao
>relies too heavily on a gimmick ("""Superficial""" fusing of two genres)
o i am laffin
>>71937544
>thinks the relevancy of an album is important
What do you mean by "relevancy" and how did you get that idea from my post?
>can't prove me wrong
>>71937451
Now elaborate on why the album in question fulfills all of those criteria.
>>71936770
If it was just electronic it wouldn't be revolutionary...but since it's not and is a fusion of a few genres, your comment is pointless
sweet trip is reddit-core
>>71937578

>>71937451
>overrated
How? Just because every other fortnight you see the album posted on /mu/? Get a fucking grip, the average person wouldn't know about it outside of here.
>gimmicky
In what way? Because the way it fuses shoegaze/glitch? I would say it incorporates fuzzy tones and beautifully done glitches perfectly. Rich tones yet saturated in fuzz and catchy glitch moments dominate this album
>meme
Let me remind you that you just said this album was overrated, then you said it's a meme for not being notable. This is how I know you're fucking retarded. It's not a meme and it's an interesting sound.
>>71937601
>go on Reddit
>search this album
>only results have <50 updoots
>band is somehow "reddit-core"
>>71937642
>come into thread
>don't know much about album but too many /mu/tants know about it
>sweat profusely thinking of a criticism
"it's reddit core bro"

Sweet Trip is great. I consider YWNKW to have some perfect pop songs and listening to VDC is like being outside on a nice summer day while your brain glitches out on acid. It may not be the be all end all of electronic music but it definitely creates a mood that I've never seen before by combining genres that usually don't go together whatsoever.
I really wish they would make more stuff but I doubt they ever will. Things to Ponder While Falling is my favorite song by them so it's disappointing that they called it quits when they had so much new ground to break. Oh well. I heard they have a lot of loose tracks floating around that are great but I haven't hunted them down just yet.
>>71936802
xanopticon's liminal space is timeless imo and set the bar for breakcore so high that no one's done anything remotely close to it since it came out
>>71936802
also don't forget that confield was released in fucking 2001
>>71937402
The dream of Evan and chan is so good
>>71937769
I just listened to it a little bit on youtube, and it sounds harsh as fuck. Is it one of those albums that takes a while to "get," or is it the TMR of electronic?
its a pretty good album but only good if ur high or a weirdo t b h
>>71937849
yes breakcore is harsh music. no it is not the tmr of electronic music.
>>71937849
breakcore is the amth rock of electronic music
>>71937945
I'll probably listen to it but I doubt I'll like it. Just too abstract for me I guess
>>71937849
listen to clii, the slow walk down, and then indec
those are probably the "easiest" to "get"
>>71937973
that would imply a heavy reliance on weird time-signatures which isn't necessarily true
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn4VRU0yazg
>>71938077
Holy fuck I really like this too. Is the album as good as this song?
>>71938120
hell yeah the destroyer is a pretty good record, arguably the first breakcore record back from when it was all about raw-ass breaks and basslines and less about being "complex" (i love vsnares but still)
I automatically despise anyone who doesn't like this album
>>71938239
What album is that song from though? I can't find anything called "deathfunk" by him on Google.
>>71938876

>904>>71938876(You)
Fucking electronic artists and their ailases, I swear
>I KNOW YOU TO WELLLLLLLL TO BRING UP DEATH
>I KNOW YOU TOO WELLLLLLLLL
>I KNOW YOU TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Fuck, I don't care what the people are saying in this thread, this album is GOAT
>>71936532
This album is really good but I can see its flaws. YWNKW really has GOAT songwriting, I almost wish he had the songwriting skills there on VDC. Overall I love this album though. Velocity I think is one of my favorite tracks ever, and DSCO has an energy I've been searching for since. Check out Tujiko Noriko for a similiar feel to some parts of this album
>>71936615
came in here to post this, thank you
>>71936929
This reminds me of Curumin.
