Confused, help.
>>

the right answer is to get a bass so you get your fingers strong
>>
What do i do with playing guitar?

I'm intermediate and learn and memorize songs quickly

Should i apply for guitar courses/lessons/uni to get goodier at it? Or is it bullshit and just keep learning songs and random theory i see on the internet?
Or just apply for a parties/marriages etc stuff band with just what i already know?
>>
>>71932845
What are your aspirations?

Do you want to be a local gigging musician playing bars, etc?

Do you just want to jam at open mics and blues jams every now and then?

Do you want to do studio work? Session playing? Wedding band? Guitar teacher? Just noodle around with friends? Play for your own enjoyment?

I just found a couple unused Jazz IIIs and Grip Wizards so I think I'll go and compare those to the Tortex 0.6 once my new guitar arrives.

You won't be heard over people talking.

Put copper shielding tape in the pickup and control cavities, make sure your amp isn't broken, and make sure the outlet you're plugging into is properly grounded.

Dimarzio Fast Tracks are great, they still sound a bit like single coils so you can still get that aggressive pick sound instead of it being smooth like most humbuckers.

It's electrical interference. Move your guitar around the room and see if it keeps buzzing. If you can, turn off any electrical equipment that you suspect may be the cause.
If you live in an apartment complex, you're probably fucked.

I want to be a goat rhythm player, how're those working out for rhythm with you? Especially faster, lighter rhythm. Basically I end up playing a lot of solo guitar and stuff, and I'm looking at those as a possible fit for something adequate for rhythm that doesn't sacrifice lead accuracy.
>>
>>71934828
I'm probably not the person to ask because I'm a shit player. I can't pick fast without getting caught on the string, especially if I'm picking more than one string at a time.

If you post an example of what you're thinking of I can try to play something similar and post a clip.

Who's the consumerist now. Models like the Les Paul, SG are only expensive because MUH ROCKSTARS . Guitars like the ES225 are built just as well, literally by the same people.

The worst fucking pick of all time. I break and wear these so fast whenever I have the misfortune to have to use one. I have seriously never met anyone who's actually tried a decent number of other picks who preferred fender. Well, even in /gg/ this is the first time I've seen anyone remotely experienced(if that is the case) preferring fender picks.

I like them for the thickness. It's just in that perfect middle for me with enough flex but still stiff enough.

That's a terrible reason to do something. But if you must, then just change the pickguard. Maple necks are superior. Especially for a fucking Strat
>>
>>71937395
lmao, you really think there's $700,000 worth of quality difference between those guitars and a Les Paul from the same year? Those guitars are overpriced simply because of rockist fetishism. If Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page had played Teisco guitars we would be seeing them selling for thousands as well.

I'm just saying you can buy real vintage Gibson quality for the price of a high end Korean or Chinese guitar. People act like Gibson is some kind of unattainable elitist brand, it's not.

I know an old dude around the place where I work who owns 50+ guitars. Valuable ones too like 50's & 60's gibsons. When I work sometimes I would chat with the guy about guitars, and last time he said he's looking to sell a majority of his collection but doesn't want to deal with the hassle. I told him I'd be willing to do it for a percentage and he said he'd think about it. His suggestion was that he gives me a value for each guitar and whatever extra I make above that value I get to keep for myself. He supplies the boxes and everything. But if I get an unhappy customer it's my problem.
Does this seem legit /gg/?
Should I ask for a percentage instead?
>>
>>71933245
Orange is the GOAT
>>
>>71937670
You already did and he said he'd prefer not to...

You could potentially make a lot of money for doing fuck all work. I'd be thankful for whatever he offers you.
>>
>>71937670
I would just ask for a percentage. Guys like that tend to overvalue their gear imo, there's a small chance that he's going to ask for less than the going price on reverb/ebay.

The vintage guitar market is kind of shitty right now, takes forever to move stuff.
>>
>>71937670
Kinda depends on whether he's competent at pricing guitars
>>
>>71937708
>>71937743
>>71937759
He claims to have made a living off of music so I would assume that he knows the values well. Hard to say though.
Maybe I will ask for a small percentage and if he declines I will do it the way he wants.
If I end up doing it, I'll post pics of them here too, just so /gg/ can see some interesting guitars.

The problem with selling at a percentage is that you don't really have a huge incentive to chase a high price on a guitar.

He's gonna want a minimum amount regardless and that's absolutely fair. If anything he's giving you more of a reward for selling over his asking price.
>>
>>71938065
People often hide their powerlevel when posting those kind of ads to try and get more interest.

I went to have a 'jazz' jam with a rando once and we ended up playing a bunch of prog and wiggy psychedelic shit once we started talking.
>>
>>71937410

>>
>>71937670
He can't really trust you to sell at a percentage, if you undervalue anything he takes the hit. I think him setting the price is the best, if you can't sell certain things you can just say so and not worry about it, leave it to him.

Nope. In fact even if not different brands, I always put different types of pickups in. I don't want my middle position to be boring.

I recommended vintage split and dream 180 because I have a guitar that's got a vintage split in the bridge and a dream 180 in the neck, and it sounds like pure sex all the time. It is a bit hot though, so no ear piercing highs or anything. Though vintage split seems to have more highs than most humbuckers.
