singing is just slow talking lmao get a grip
I kinda meant for this thread to be other autists to record and post atrocious singing to feel less self conscious
>>71879631
nigga but you aint post shit dawg
I used to know this feel until I became truly a great singer. I put Frank Sinatra to shame. I make Freddie Mercury sound like an amateur. People occasionally get the privilege of hearing me sing at open mics, if I'm in the mood to indulge the commoners need for art.
just sing anyways
as long as you hit the notes who cares
>tfw can't sing without sounding like a dollar store blend of Ian Curtis, Jamie Stewart, and Paul Banks
I'd be happy if I became a decent guitarist and knew my way around a DAW or two at this point

Ayy ayy boys. How'd i do?
How to sing:
1. Practice pranayama to obtain world-class breath control. 20 minutes a day.
2. Learn "Open Throat" singing (and vowel modification) to avoid damaging your voice, specially while hitting high notes. http://www.singwise.com/cgi-bin/main.pl?section=articles&doc=VocalTractShaping
http://www.singwise.com/cgi-bin/main.pl?section=articles&doc=VowelsFormantsAndModifications
3. Develop your ear. Several mistakes are the result of having a blurry picture of the note you're supposed to hit, rather than being unable to hit it. Get an ear training app.
4. Record yourself singing every time you practice. Adjust technique accordingly. At first, don't try to create stupid effects to sound like this or that, sing the most natural way, even if you don't like the sound much. Your priority is to hit the notes correctly, once you're good, you can start sounding breathy or raspy or whatever to color your voice.
5. If it hurts, stop. If you feel you've strained your voice, let it heal by mostly shutting up for the rest of the day.
6. Avoid eating anything that might trigger acid reflux. Look it up.

Oh and:
7. Stay in your comfortably range and expand slowly as your voice gets stronger.
