recommendations for indie-folk with a heavy leaning towards ambient and instrumental interludes? I'm thinking The Antlers' In The Attic of the Universe, The Microphone's The Glow, Pt. 2, Giles Corey's s/t, Little Kid's Logic Songs, and stuff like that.
also interested. If you haven't, listen to Phil's other stuff, especially is Mount Eerie stuff

Where to start with Mt. Eerie though? Also, if you haven't, give that Little Kid record a spin. It's a truly underrated gem.

Give Clear Moon a listen. It's my favorite Mount Eerie album, but it also has some of the aspects you are looking for.

Try Port St. Willow, the guy's a friend of the Antlers dude and their approaches to ambient sad slowcore are quite similar.

I don't know about best place, but I started with No Flashlights, then went on to Wind's Poem and Clear Moon/Ocean Roar, then the rest

There was this indie/folkish album I used to listen to but forgot the name of. I'm not sure if it necessarily fits your description, but it might. The album cover was a painting of a few frogs in battle holding bow and arrows, and I think one of them got shot or something. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I know what you're taking about but can't remember the band name; I know it started with "Thee" though
