Real talk I've been playing games for 20 years and Rocket League is objectively the best I've ever played. Closest a game can ever feel to a spot/real life game y'know? I got 700 hours in this bitch and can't imagine it ever getting boring

%1000 the closest a game can come to real competitive sport. No bullshit. In a sports game you click a button to shoot. There is some technique in how your shot goes but ultimately its a button that represents a complex motion. In Rocket League, every nuanced action comes from the player. There is true technique. I used to play a lot of FIFA, but RL is so much better. When I try to explain to some of my skeptical friends I explain to them, Fifa is like controlling players at a high level, rocket league is like controlling a foot. So much more complexity.

I agree, this game is in my top 5 of all time.

Agree with every word. Rocket League is more of a physics-sim than a video-game. I actually feel like I'm playing a sport, and the skill cap feels as high as a sport.

And to make this /mu/ related I a ton of music listening in while I play since you don't need much by way of game sounds at all.

Yeah, I have about 300 hours on it, and I have played the game with game sound for maybe 20 hours tops. Its the perfect game to just plug your headphones into your laptop, listen to some music, podcasts, or tv shows, and play. Audio cues play a lot less of a role in this game than any other esport.

Compared to like any other video game, yeah it's the closest feeling you'll ever get. It's a car, a ball, and real-life physics. Medical conditions make it so I can't play sports IRL anymore which is very depressing so I've found solace in Rocket League.
