yes to you, but people who prefer isn't anything to loveless aren't contrarians at all imo (they usually get mislabeled like that)
they're probably more into raw and punk sounding stuff in general rather than dreamy and quiet

simply put: mbv made two albums ''to please'' both sides of shoegaze i.e. different sounds but same quality.

Been there. The album is insanely good. I got hooked to it just after listening to Loveless--I loved its unique and more raw essence.

Soft as Snow, Cupid Come, All I Need, You Never Should, and I Can See It (But Can't Feel It) are just amazing tracks
