What do you guys think of this trip hop / instrumental hip-hop album I found? I was surprised at how little information I could find on it.
The album is "Maid of Gold", and it's by Villain Accelerate.

Meant to link to the album itself, not the titular song.

Nice.

never thought I'd see this here. I copped this when I was going through my "real hip hop" phase. That's not a diss. It's a cool record. Love the opening track.
Are you into Sixtoo more generally?

What else you got on your "real hip hop " collection?

Not so much instrumental stuff but records coming out from anticon, definitive jux, and rhymsayers during the early and mid 2000s would probably strike your fancy.
For instrumental stuff - Jel, Alias, Sixtoo, Blockhead, Boom Bip, Odd Nosdam

Yeah snap you neck. I forbid into hiphop through listening to breaks like the one you linked , it was Paul nice breaks for days . There was another one something called sample cafe or a variation of that name but I could never find it again. I remember it was in volumes

For sure. I'm more into the vocal side of hip hop but always down to hear some nice instrumentals
