Can someone recommend me a good receiver that is under $300? Pick related is my current setup; the JVC is shitting out on me and I don't feel like dropping money to fix something so old.

place your speakers on a different surface from your turntable

I know, I only placed them there because of the way that area was set up. Moving the whole set up to a new location today

sony's str-dh770 is on sales for $198.

he has stereo speakers and a turntable
that thing is surround and does not have a phono preamp

might as well get the dayton audio b652-air speakers and the dayton audio 8" sub too... all for just over 300

yes, you can use it for surround, but there is 2 channel stereo... obviously. For just under $200, it a deal and a legit suggestion.

Good point on the phono stage, though. I just saw this on sale and recommended without taking that into account, thanks.

what-hifi is always advertising a yamaha (371?), onkyo (9010?), and a marantz (6-something?) constantly as good "bufget options... Sorry I don;t remember the models, but you can find them pretty easily. Maybe one of them has built-in phono stage if you need that.

yeah but buying a surround amp with 4 hdmi inputs and lots of amplifier channels that will probably never be used if OP's main thing is a turntable is not really a good idea IMO

One of these, which would you guys recommend?

I hear ya... I jumped the gun a little, because I had just ran across that sale. It's a good price for what it is, though you are correct.

I just use vintage equipment for my records.

staying within your budget I'd say the onkyo 8160
it has all kinds of analog (and a phono stage) and digital inputs and is networked, which can be really handy
feature wise the best for the price in there IMO

sure thing
it's absolutely a great deal

onkyo 9010
